Privacy & Confidentiality

Your Privacy and Confidentiality Are My Priority

At Optimum Balance, I’m committed to providing a safe, private, and HIPAA-compliant telehealth environment where you can feel comfortable sharing openly.

I - Protecting Your Personal Information

At Optimum Balance, your privacy and confidentiality are my top priorities. All information shared during counseling sessions is strictly confidential and protected by federal and state laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Your personal health information (PHI) will never be shared without your written consent, except in situations required by law—such as risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect, or by court order.

II - Understanding Your Privacy Rights

Optimum Balance follows all HIPAA regulations to protect your health information. You have the right to understand how your PHI may be used, disclosed, and accessed.

You can review our full Notice of Privacy Practices by requesting a copy before your first appointment. This document explains your rights and our responsibilities in detail.

III - Secure, HIPAA-Compliant Telehealth Sessions

All counseling sessions are conducted via secure, encrypted, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms to ensure confidentiality and data protection via SimplePractice.

I recommend joining sessions from a private, secure location and using a trusted internet connection to maintain your privacy.

IV - Communicating Safely with Optimum Balance

While I take every measure to protect your information, please note that email and website contact forms are not fully secure. These should not be used to share personal health details or sensitive information.

For confidential communications, please use the secure telehealth portal through SimplePratice or call my office directly (253) 314-9726. By using my website or email, you acknowledge and accept these communication limitations.
