Therapy for anxiety, burnout, and the quiet pressure of living between cultures in Tacoma, WA.
For the person who holds it all together — and is quietly running out of ways to keep doing it
Virtual therapy for anxiety in Washington State and across PSYPACT states
You're the capable one, which means no one thinks to ask if you're okay. You're holding cultural expectations in one hand and your own needs in the other, and you're not sure how much longer you can. Slowing down doesn't feel like relief, it feels like falling behind.
You look like you have it together- and in a lot of ways, you do. But you’re tired in a way you can’t quite explain to anyone around you. Maybe you stay up an hour later than you should- not because you’re not tired, but because it’s the only hour that’s actually yours. Maybe you’ve spent so long putting other people’s needs first that your guilt kicks in the moment you consider doing something just for you. Maybe you’re working hard to hold your own in rooms that were never quite built with you in mind.
At Optimum Balance, I offer therapy for anxiety, burnout, and the quieter kinds of struggling that don’t always have a name. Many of my clients are driven, first- or second-generation professionals, or navigating multiple worlds at once- people who are better at solving other people’s problems than their own.
Together, we’ll work on building a life that feels like yours - not just the one you’ve been performing.
Hi, I’m Dr. Sareeta Beeram (she/her), a licensed clinical psychologist based in Tacoma, WA providing Telehealth therapy across PSYPACT states.
I know firsthand what it’s like to navigate more than one cultural world, and I bring that into this work- so you won't have to start from the beginning explaining certain aspects of your life. My approach is evidence-based, collaborative and practical.
What we work on:
Anxiety that looks like ambition from the outside
People-pleasing rooted in cultural expectations you never got to question
Burnout that no one around you can see because you're still showing up
You can expect to feel genuinely met here- not managed. I’ll bring honesty, curiosity, and real investment in what you’re working toward. We won’t just explore what’s hard- we’ll bring real skills to shift it, because understanding yourself is only useful if it translates into something real. You’ll be invited to stretch, because I think you’re capable of more than white-knuckling it.

You’ve learned to move between worlds — adapting, translating, performing. You deserve a space where that work can finally rest.
Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re the person everyone else leans on- driven, high-functioning, and quietly exhausted- yes, probably. My clients tend to be people who are good at holding it together on the outside while something more complicated is happening underneath. If you’ve spent time navigating cultural expectations, code-switching, or performing a version of yourself that doesn’t quite fit, you’re in the right place.

Our first session is usually an intake- a chance for me to get a fuller picture of what’s bringing you in, your history, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. Think of it less like an interrogation and more like an extended conversation where I’m trying to understand not just your symptoms, but your life.
From there, follow-up sessions are about 50 minutes and typically weekly, especially at the start. We’ll use that time to dig into what’s actually going on, build real skills to shift it, and track what’s changing over time. I’m collaborative and direct- I’ll push you a little when it’s useful, and I’ll be honest with you in ways that support your growth.
Therapy for anxiety isn’t always linear, and I don’t expect it to be. You’ll always know what we’re working on and why— nothing happens in a black box here.

I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. Depending on your plan, you may be able to submit for reimbursement using a superbill I provide. Many clients find this still makes therapy accessible and worth a call to your insurance company to check your out-of-network benefits.

On length- it depends, and anyone who gives you a definitive answer upfront probably doesn’t have enough information yet. Some people come in with a specific thing they want to work through and are ready to wrap up in a a few months. Others are dealing with patterns that have been building for years, and the work takes longer. What I can tell you is that we’ll check in regularly on how things are going, and the goal is never to keep you in therapy longer than you need.
On the “I’ve tried this before” question- that’s more common that you’d think, and it’s worth taking seriously. Sometimes it’s about fit. Sometimes it’s about timing. And sometimes previous therapy was more about venting than actually building skills to shift things. If you’ve spent time in a therapy room feeling like you were going in circles, or like your therapist didn’t quite get your life, that’s real feedback- not a sign that therapy isn’t for you. My approach is active and practical. I take your cultural context seriously because you’re a whole person and your background, your pressures, and the worlds you move between are part of what we’re working with, not background noise.

Therapy for anxiety — and the burnout, perfectionism, and pressure that usually come with it — isn’t about rehashing your entire history or being handed a list of things to fix. It’s a place to slow down, get honest about what’s actually going on, and start building something that feels more sustainable — and more like you.
If any part of this page made you feel seen, that’s probably not an accident. Reach out when you’re ready. To make things easier, I offer a free 15-minute consultation call where we can simply talk, explore what’s bringing you here, and see if working together feels like the right fit.
If we decide to move forward, I’ll walk you through a few easy next steps to set up your first appointment.
You've spent a long time being the one who figures it out. This is the one place where you don't have to.
A lot of people who find their way to therapy have spent a long time thinking they should be able to handle things on their own. They’re smart, capable, and used to figuring things out — which is exactly why asking for help can feel so uncomfortable.
You don’t have to earn the right to feel good.
But there’s a difference between coping and actually feeling okay. And if you’ve been carrying the weight of everything for long enough, it might be worth exploring what it would feel like to set some of it down.
