Meet Dr. Sareeta Beeram
Anxiety Therapist Based in Tacoma, WA
I spent over a decade working in a large hospital setting, treating adults navigating some of the most complex mental health challenges there are. That work shaped me clinically in ways I carry into every session. But over time, I kept coming back to something specific- the moments when a client walks in, sees someone who feels familiar, and visibly relaxes. The relief of not having to translate themselves. Of knowing they can just start.
That’s why I moved into private practice as an anxiety therapist in Tacoma, WA. To build a space where that relief isn’t the exception- it’s the foundation.
I’m Dr. Sareeta Beeram, a licensed clinical psychologist with a virtual private practice serving adults across Washington State and multiple other states. My work sits at the intersection of psychology and culture. In my practice, I specialize in working with high-achieving adults navigating the emotional costs of ambition, intergenerational pressure, and the complexity of belonging to more than one world.
I come to this work with both professional training and personal understanding. I know firsthand what it’s like to hold multiple cultural identities, to feel pressure from competing sources, and to build a life that honors where you come from while figuring out who you really are.
Many of the people I work with have spent so long managing how much of themselves to show — at work, at home, even in therapy — that they’ve lost track of what it feels like to just be. They’re exhausted from always being on. Here, you’re supposed to take up space.
My Approach As Your Anxiety Therapist in Tacoma, WA
My practice is integrative and grounded in evidence-based practice. I draw primarily from CBT, ACT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing- not because I apply them rigidly, but because together they give us a flexible set of tools that match what you’re actually dealing with.
In practice, that means we might be examining the thoughts that keep you stuck one session, building skills to manage overwhelming emotions the next, and clarifying what you actively value — underneath the noise of what you’re supposed to want. The work shifts based on what you need.
What stays consistent is that I’m in it with you. As your anxiety therapist, I’ll track patterns you might not see yet, name things directly when that’s useful, and help you connect insight to action. Because understanding yourself is only the beginning.
Practical Details
-
I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and have over a decade of experience working within the Veterans Healthcare System, where I had the privilege of supporting veterans facing co-occurring disorders, including those managing both mental health and substance use challenges. This experience informed my nonjudgmental, strengths-based approach- and taught me how to meet people in some of their most complex moments without losing sight of what they’re capable of.
I also have experience as a national trainer, helping other professionals learn and implement evidence based-treatments.

Optimum Balance Psychology is a private pay practice — insurance is not accepted. This allows sessions to remain focused entirely on your care, without the constraints of insurance-driven limits on session length or frequency. A fee schedule is available upon request. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for those who need them.
Upon request, a superbill can be provided after each session. A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes the diagnostic and billing codes your insurance company needs — you can submit it directly to your insurer for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual plan, so it’s worth checking with your insurance provider about your out-of-network benefits before getting started.
Reach out to discuss fees or to learn whether this is the right fit for you.
Getting Started
If any of this felt like it was written for you, it probably was. I offer a free 15-minute consultation whenever you’re ready.
The consultation is just a conversation — a chance for you to share a little about what’s been going on and for us to get a sense of whether we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure or commitment requirement.
If we decide to move forward, the first session is about getting oriented. We’ll talk about what brought you here, what you’ve tried before, and what you’re hoping for. As your anxiety therapist, I’ll ask questions, but I’ll also follow your lead — you don’t have to have it all figured out before we begin.
And if you’re not sure you’re ready — that uncertainty is worth honoring, not waiting out. Reaching out doesn’t lock you into anything. It just opens a door.
